Rata and Al-Manjour (Al-Shuwaymis) is located southwest of the city of Hail, about 320 km, to the west of the present-day village of Al-Shuwaymis about 35 km. It was discovered by the archaeologist in the area Saad bin Ar Ruwaisan in 1422 AH. The sandstone heights with their façades and stone façades around them contain many elaborate paintings of complete human forms that sometimes appear individually or accompanying animal shapes, all of which are carved in the way of scrubs, tapping or engraving and at almost life size. The drawings date back to three different periods, the first being the end of the Middle Paleolithic period. The second period is similar to that of the first period, and the third is believed to date back to the Thamudic period.
